Joseph had a fun day celebrating his birthday. We spent the morning getting ready for the big day. After his second "nap" (hard to call it that since he never actually slept...too much excitement I guess), we opened presents with Gran and Grandaddy.

Joseph loved opening his presents and seeing his new toys!

I thought this hat was real cute...but Joseph didn't quite agree! This shot is probably the best we got of actual head to hat contact.

I made Joseph a yummy pumpkin apple cake with cream cheese icing. It actually tasted pretty good...and he loved it! I wasn't sure what he would think about it but he dug in like there was no tomorrow. He definitely found some extra room in his tummy for that cake (not quite his approach to pureed turkey).

Here's a pic of his 1st bday balloon! He has loved playing with it and seeing it on his high chair.

After all the excitement, we had dinner at City Bagel and headed home so Joseph could get some sleep. The missed nap and birthday excitement made for a very tired birthday boy! We are so thankful for this first year with our little man! Here's to many, many more!

Happy Birthday Joseph! Kate, these pictures are beautiful! Hold on to that birthday hat. Camp hated his his first and second birthday. This year I couldn't get it off of him! I had to hide it after his birthday, because he wanted to wear it everyday!
