Barcelona: Day 4

We started off the Day 4 at a little cafe just around the corner from our place. I think I could survive on Spanish breakfast pastries and Café con Leche. Yum!
After breakfast, we headed over to the Picasso Museum. Everyday we passed a long line waiting to get in but we always passed it up as we knew long lines + art museums would not bode well for our traveling companions. However, there was basically no line in the early morning so we got our tickets and went right in. We were able to see many works by Picasso and some by Salvador Dali, that were included in a visiting collection. Joseph had recently learned about Picasso at his school so he connected with the artist and his art.

We brought sketch pads for the boys after seeing some friends' children enjoying traveling with them. Joseph decided to sit down and sketch Closed Balcony. Several tourists were so intrigued by his sketching that they started taking pictures of him. Ha! Our famous artist :)

We hopped back on our bus and headed towards the National Museum of Catalan Art, located in the grand National Palace of Montjuïc.

An added bonus of traveling during Easter week were the unique ways that we were able to celebrate Holy Week. The museum's collection of Christian art is amazing and one of the highlights of all of their holdings.

After taking the bus back down, we searched for another round of churros and chocolate. Our last place, La Xocolateria, was one of the best!

Our faithful traveling companions were great all week, but they were overdue for some running around. Before our final dinner the boys kicked around their new soccer ball in the plaza in front of the El Born cultural center.
