August...

Gran and Grandaddy came up for a visit to stay with Joseph and I while Joey went on the college leadership team retreat. Joseph loved watching a slideshow of pictures set to the song "High Cotton" by Alabama (some forward my dad had received). It was definitely a hit!

On Saturday, we went to a goodbye get-together for a member of our Church. Joseph loved playing on the playground. We have found that he is especially fond of slides.

Joseph showing off his mouthful of teeth!

On August 13, Joey and I celebrated 4 years of marriage. We went out to dinner at Restaurant Tyler. Joey brought me flowers and I made a berry crisp for us to enjoy after dinner (we read somewhere that fruit and flowers were the anniversary gift for 4 years). Joey also made some cards that we read through at dinner and talked about our "top 4" things from our relationship (restaurants, defining moments, places, people, etc.) It was definitely a celebratory evening!

Here's Joseph using our swiffer. It is one of his favorite "toys"! He is so helpful when it comes to cleaning:)

Joseph has loved going to his mother's day out program. He recently brought home his first piece of art. It is hanging on our fridge!

Joseph loves to read and is always handing us a book and asking us to sit and read it to him. This usually involves putting the book in our face and patting the chair for us to sit down. He also enjoys reading the same book over and over again. :)

We recently had a welcome back party for college students at our house. The weather has been so nice that we decided to have it outside on our deck. We had to move inside later in the evening when rain was threatening.

Joseph watched most of the party from his swing (one of his favorite places).
