Another fun day in St. Andrews

Joey picked up our car in Dundee (with the help of a friend) and on Friday we went on our first drive in it. It's a little unnerving to drive on the opposite side of the road while driving a stick shift for the first time in 8 years (or to be along for the ride when someone else is doing it!!). But, we all made it safely to the grocery store and back.

On Saturday (once we realized it was Saturday and not Friday...oops:), we headed out to explore the city some more. One thing that we have talked up for Joseph has been the aquarium. He grabbed onto the idea a while ago and always mentioned it when someone asked him what he was looking forward to in Scotland. The aquarium is definitely not huge but the perfect size for two little boys. We had a great time!!

After the aquarium, we walked out onto the beach. Joseph loved climbing these large rocks!
The Old Course is so close to town and we walk by it almost every time we have ventured out. Such beautiful views!! We are trying to sufficiently appreciate it for all of our golfer friends and family:)
Right after we arrived, they began setting up a fair downtown on one of the main streets, Market Street. The boys have been oohing and ahhing over all the excitement and couldn't wait to try out a ride.

We decided James might enjoy the train ride. Of course, he wasn't happy until big brother joined him.

That afternoon, we headed back out to see a Model Train Exhibition. The boys loved seeing all the different trains watching them travel along the tracks. The first one was trains and train tracks made completely out of legos. Impressive!! Thankfully, we managed to not destroy the entire display:)

Another fun day in St. Andrews in the books!!

So glad you are starting to get used to driving on the other side of the road. Glad it is you as with the standard shift....I'd be walking! Just got home from the PW banquet and your family was mentioned. We appreciate the blog...keep the updates coming. I know Joseph will have a great first day of school!
