We can't move into our permanent housing until August 26 so we are staying in some temporary places until then. Our first place was a "flat" at Howard Place right off Market Street, one of the main streets through town. It was a little tight for the four of us but the perfect place to spend our first few days getting to know the city. I'm so glad we had that time there because everything was just a short walk away and we loved getting out to explore each day.
We tried to eat by the water but after the seagulls tried to attack Joey (they are serious about some fried fish!!) we headed back to the garden outside of our old building. We ate lunch on a perfect summer day and enjoyed a laid back Sunday together as a family.
After lunch, we decided to head to the Old Course. It's closed to golfers on Sundays and open to foot traffic. We walked across the green and enjoyed the views from the historic course.
We passed this plaque on our walk back. Tom Morris won the Open several times in the 1800s and was born in a house on this site in 1821.

We had to be out of our first place by 10am and couldn't move into our second place until 4pm on Sunday. So, we packed up things and got ready for Church. We went to the traditional service at Holy Trinity. It was a short walk from our building so we stopped for some quick coffee and do-nuts and headed to worship. After the service, we decided to try a traditional British favorite of Fish and Chips from Tailend Fish Bar. James loved his and Joseph was willing to give them a try.We tried to eat by the water but after the seagulls tried to attack Joey (they are serious about some fried fish!!) we headed back to the garden outside of our old building. We caught the very end of a community band concert by the sea. Lovely music in a lovely setting!

LOVE reading about y'all's adventures! I was laughing out loud about the seagulls attacking Joey. Hahaha! Craig loved the community band picture, and I only have one critique...Get in a picture, Kate! I know you're taking them, but I want to see you, too! :) Miss y'all and we're LOVING these posts! Keep 'em comin'!
Oh, and also, my cousin and her family live in Germany, and she posted a picture of their bathroom earlier this year. What made me think of it was that I noticed in your photo that the shower/bath tub only has a half wall. She said she had no idea why all European tubs had those half walls because everything gets soaked. Hope your's works better! :)
