First Day in St. Andrews

After a great night's sleep (for most), we were ready for our first full day in Scotland. We enjoyed a light breakfast before setting out to explore the city.
James has a great view of a busy street and loves watching cars from his window
We walked to Cockshaugh Park to explore our first playground. It was a longer walk from our temporary place than it will be from our permanent housing. The boys had a blast playing.

the see-saw was a hit

Joey demonstrated the slide since the boys were unsure of the tall ladder.

They loved spinning Joey!

We then headed out to walk the Lade Braes, a walking path through the woods and next to a picturesque stream. Joey will probably spend a lot of time running this path and I'm sure it will be well traveled by us going from our house to the park.

You can follow this same path up to where Joseph will start school next week. He can't wait to go!

After all the walking, we decided to head home and have lunch. Lots of walking and lots of beautiful scenery to take in!
The building ahead is the old city gate (also, a classic British phone booth on the left)

I just love this blog! I love seeing everything y'all are doing, because you don't seem so far away! Keep up the good work, Kate! (or Joey...whoever is doing the blog) Are there any signs of America there? (McDonald's, Waffle House :), Walmart, etc.) I'm guessing no, but just thought I'd ask. :)

Oh, how I miss European playgrounds! That lovely little walk looks beautiful, too. I hope you guys are (slowly) starting to adjust, but it looks like you're taking full advantage of the city which is so important! Loving the posts and pics!
